Hi! My name is Erica. My family is my whole world. Becoming a mother has shown me the immense joy as well as the hard parts of being a mom. I want to help people celebrate parenthood and to appreciate the wonderful times in their lives.
I strive to capture human connection and the deep bond between parents, their partners and their children. I recognize the multifaceted aspects of motherhood, the changes it brings to our lives and the cherished moments it brings forth. I want to help others celebrate and appreciate this.
My love for photography began in high school with my first film camera. I loved the idea that an image could tell a whole story without any words. I would spend time flipping through National Geographic magazines, in awe of the incredible images from all over the world of different people and environments. I think this continues to inspire my photography today. I love capturing the unposed and storytelling moments in photography that are filled with emotion.
I began taking college classes where I learned to develop my own film and photos in the darkroom which felt like the most magical and satisfying experience for me. During this time, I also worked alongside a wedding photographer and took photos for the local newspaper.
After getting married and having my daughter, I began picking up my camera even more frequently. I could acutely feel the swift passing of time and wanting to document all the little moments more frequently. Creating a family of my own is what truly inspired my love for family photography. I know the immense blessing of having a family. It is an incredible gift meant to be cherished, nurtured and appreciated. This is what I hope to show the families that I have the opportunity to work with.
